No matter where you are reading this letter – at your kitchen table, on your living room couch, or perhaps in your home office, I imagine that you are nervous about the health crisis that surrounds us, but are feeling relatively safe and have some control over your environment. I am writing to tell you about the population that Women’s Lunch Place serves.

The face masks you painstakingly measured, cut, pinned, and sewed are being distributed to the +1,500 women we serve annually.

Simply collect your donations and drop them off at a Drop-Off Volunteer near you. Our Drop-off Volunteers will collect donations within their neighborhood and deliver them to the shelter for you.

Read MoreSeveral weeks ago, on an icy January night, WLP Executive Director Jennifer Hanlon Wigon joined hundreds of Boston volunteers to count the homeless living on the streets of Boston. Each year, volunteers work with city and state officials and comb through streets, alleyways, MBTA stations, and more to record how many people are sleeping outside. This data is then combined with overnight shelter and other transitional housing headcounts to get a better picture of homelessness and its impact in our city.
