Mask Makers, United!
Thank you to the many volunteers, donors, and sewing groups who have stepped up in this time of need and are helping us provide critical safety supplies for our staff and guests. The face masks you painstakingly measured, cut, pinned, and sewed are being distributed to the +1,500 women we serve annually.
In what felt like a blink of an eye, face masks became a critical part of our plan to protect our community and slow down the rate of infection. For many of the women who come to us for help, this added additional worry onto an already stressful situation. The majority of our guests have faced additional challenges during this time – limited and unpredictable grocery store supplies, shortages of basic necessities like toilet paper and cleaning supplies, and economic stressors like reduced job security.
Due to your help, we have been able to provide masks to every woman who comes to the shelter for food or support. We have added your beautifully crafted masks to our pantry baskets, which are being delivered all over our community to elderly and immunosuppressed women. Your generosity is allowing countless women to go through their day with a sense of peace and personal security.
Our team, guests, and community thank you sincerely!
