Your Lasting Legacy of Support: Planned Giving

“What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.” ― Pericles

Donors who are passionate about changing the lives of homeless women in Boston may wish to consider including a charitable gift in their financial plan. Such a gift sustains the impact of your support and strengthens the foundation that underlies our life-changing work.

Listed below are a few of the simplest approaches. Please feel free to call Paula White at 617-449-7190 to share your thoughts and discuss the options.

Gift through a Will or Living Trust

One versatile way to ensure that Women’s Lunch Place continues lifting women out of homelessness and poverty is to leave a gift by will or living trust––also known as a charitable bequest.

By including a bequest to Women’s Lunch Place, Inc. in your will or living trust, you are making a profound commitment to the lives of vulnerable women for years to come. Gifts of this kind can be made as a specific amount or as a percentage of your estate. In addition, your gift entitles your estate to an unlimited federal estate tax charitable deduction.

Sample language to share with your attorney:

"I bequeath (specific dollar amount [or] XX% [or] the entire residue of my estate) to Women’s Lunch Place, Inc., 67 Newbury Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02116. Federal Tax ID: 222-514-148."

Beneficiary Designation

Naming Women’s Lunch Place, Inc. as a charitable beneficiary of your assets––such as retirement plans, life insurance policies, donor-advised funds, or bank accounts––will help change the future of homelessness services in Boston.

This action involves contacting the administrator of your plan and including Women’s Lunch Place, Inc. as one of your beneficiaries. Not only is this an easy way to designate future support, but it's also flexible. You can review and adjust beneficiary designations anytime you wish and include multiple beneficiaries. A beneficiary gift to Women’s Lunch Place, Inc. is exempt from taxes, which means the total value of the gift goes toward furthering our mission.

IRA Charitable Distribution

If you are 70 ½ years of age or older, you can make a tax-free gift directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to Women’s Lunch Place, Inc. Contact your IRA plan administrator to initiate the distribution.
