WLP is still open and serving women every day. We are continuing to maintain all three of our core service areas – healthy meals, direct care and advocacy – despite the challenges brought on by COVID-19. Although this pandemic has forced us to temporarily shift to take-out meals, we are still serving over 200 meals each day! We miss our volunteers greatly and wanted to let you know a few ways you could be a "virtual volunteer"!

Read MoreSeveral weeks ago, on an icy January night, WLP Executive Director Jennifer Hanlon Wigon joined hundreds of Boston volunteers to count the homeless living on the streets of Boston. Each year, volunteers work with city and state officials and comb through streets, alleyways, MBTA stations, and more to record how many people are sleeping outside. This data is then combined with overnight shelter and other transitional housing headcounts to get a better picture of homelessness and its impact in our city.
