This moving short film was produced in a close collaboration with Boston Filmworks and director Steve Liss, who has earned two Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Journalism Awards. In this documentary, you will meet four women who will candidly tell you their stories, unmask misconceptions about homelessness, and describe how Women's Lunch Place has made a remarkable impact on their lives.

Women’s Lunch Place is committed to empowering each woman so that her voice rises through the bureaucracies that obscure quality housing, health care, and economic empowerment, and she can move toward stability and greater wellbeing.

wellness program highlight
During the ongoing health crisis, women have lost their jobs and suffered from domestic violence, isolation, poverty, eviction, and harassment. Our advocates are experiencing a 53% increase in requests for housing help. In response to these needs, WLP has been proactive and introduced new programming that focuses on increasing a woman’s wellness from the moment they enter our community.

SPAGHETTI DINNER 2021
On Friday, October 22nd, in addition to our virtual streaming options, we celebrated a return to in-person gatherings by assembling smaller, intimate watch parties. Hundreds of supporters joined us as we honored the resilient guests who inspire us every day, as well as the generous partners who continue to enable us to provide dignified, personalized care and a supportive community to any woman in need of assistance.

Spaghetti Dinner 2020
On Friday, October 30th, our annual fall gala, Spaghetti Dinner, was presented in a new format. We held Spaghetti Dinner: Equity - Our Vision for the Future virtually to ensure the health and safety of our community. This event raised critical funds to help Boston’s most vulnerable women find hope and community. As we continue to navigate the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, your participation is more important than ever to ensure that we reach our fundraising goal and can continue to positively impact our community.

eat LUNCH give 2019 Highlights
The 8th annual eat LUNCH give luncheon took place on Tuesday, April 30 at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel. We honored Jody Adams with the Women Who Give Award. Jody is a two-time James Beard winner and acclaimed Boston restaurateur. Jody has a strong commitment to hunger relief and is an active philanthropist in Boston. Jody donates her time to WLP as a weekly kitchen volunteer. She also offered her culinary talents as the first celebrity chef in the WLP Supper Club series. She is an amazing ambassador for Women’s Lunch Place.

Chef Jody Adams and WLP Chef Sherry Hughes talk about poverty, homelessness, and the Healthy Meals program at Women's Lunch Place. Seventy-eight percent of the women WLP serves rely on the Healthy Meals Program as their consistent source of nutrition and hunger relief.

Women On the Move
Women's Lunch Place provides nutrition, community, education, housing, employment, support, and dignity for women on the move to make real change happen. We are a safe, welcoming day shelter community, for women who are experiencing homelessness or poverty. We meet our guests where they are and treat them with dignity and respect.

Women's Lunch Place Outreach Advocacy
Women experiencing poverty or homelessness face obstacles that can make it difficult, if not impossible, for them to improve their life circumstances. Volunteers and staff work with our guests to find ways to remove these barriers and begin their journeys to a better life. Skilled advocates provide assistance finding shelter beds, permanent housing, benefits, employment, and other opportunities.
