Meet Boston CEO Martha J. Sheridan Joins Women's Lunch Place Board of Directors

Martha J. Sheridan, President and CEO of Meet Boston and one of Boston Magazine's "150 Most Influential Bostonians," is bringing her dynamic talents to the Women's Lunch Place (WLP) Board of Directors.

WLP CEO Jennifer Hanlon Wigon stated, "Martha has been a committed ambassador and supporter—and she's joining our Board at a pivotal moment. As we build out our next Strategic Plan, it's hard to imagine a better voice for bold thinking and decisive strategy."

Sheridan is widely credited for reinvigorating Boston's tourism landscape, beginning with the rebrand of the Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau to Meet Boston in 2022. These efforts culminated with blockbuster tourist seasons in 2025 and 2026, thanks to her work to bring the MICHELIN Guide, FIFA World Cup 2026, Massachusetts’ 250th events, and Sail Boston to the Greater Boston region.

Following on the heels of these victories, Sheridan is prioritizing Women's Lunch Place as a worthwhile focus for her attention. Sheridan said, "It's been inspiring to experience WLP's commitment to cultivating an atmosphere of hospitality for every single woman who walks through their doors."

She continued, "I'm eager to work with Jennifer and the WLP Board on realizing their organizational ambitions to transform the service landscape for vulnerable Boston women."

Sheridan has received numerous accolades for her impact on the hospitality industry, Boston's business community, and the local economy in Eastern Massachusetts. Among other recognitions, she has been named a "Most Influential Bostonian" every year since 2022 and has been featured on the Boston Business Journal Power 50 list in 2022, 2023, 2025, and 2026.

In 2025 and 2026, Meet Boston was named a Top Women-Led Business in Massachusetts by Boston Globe Magazine and The Women’s Edge. In 2026, she was named a Boston City Champion by the Shattuck Awards, and she received the 2025 ICON award from the Boston University School of Hospitality Administration, which recognizes an “Experience Innovator” who creates new and transformative paradigms in hospitality.

WLP Board President Kate Gallivan remarked, "Over the past six years, our organization has undergone its own transformation—including expanding our reach to include long-term overnight shelter, healthcare, behavioral health, legal services, and housing stabilization. I believe we're a perfect organization for Martha to apply her entrepreneurial spirit to solving homelessness for women in Boston."
