Skilled advocates provide assistance finding housing, benefits, employment and other opportunities.
Women experiencing poverty or homelessness face obstacles that can make it difficult, if not impossible, for them to improve their life circumstances. Volunteers and staff work with our guests to find ways to remove these barriers and begin their journeys to a better life. Skilled advocates provide assistance finding shelter beds, permanent housing, benefits, employment, and other opportunities.
Women in crisis also receive emergency services followed by connection with treatment programs and specialists. On-site medical care is provided five days a week, and we triage with mental health providers and substance abuse recovery programs to ensure that our guests receive the help they need and want. Volunteer attorneys, summer college interns, and social workers complement staff services with generous donations of their time and expertise.
