Real Life Stories
One of our guests, who is HIV+ and suffers from mental illness, paid the WLP a lovely compliment. She talked about how she had gone to different programs but never felt respected. The staff didn't treat her well and made her feel like she was an annoyance. She said that she loved coming to the WLP because we always seemed to be happy to serve the guests and that we had the best food in town!
WLP staff accompanied another guest who said that her life was out of control and when she woke up one morning after a cocaine binge the only thing she could think of that would help her was to come to the WLP to be safe. She checked in a detox center more than a week later and said that she felt like we had saved her life.
